Samsung Galaxy Note 8 With Dual Rear Cameras Tipped to Launch Mid August
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 With Dual Rear Cameras Tipped to Launch Mid August
Highlights
Galaxy Note 7 was also launched mid-August last year
Samsung is reportedly working on three different camera modules
The smartphone is expected to feature Infinity display
The successful launch and sales of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones seems to have boosted Samsungs confidence as the company has now been tipped to launch its Galaxy Note 8 smartphone around mid-August. Separately, the details about the dual rear camera setup on the smartphone have also been leaked.

First talking about the tipped launch timeline, as per a report by South Korean publication The Bell, the South Korean conglomerate is said to be launching the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 flagship ahead of IFA event in September, which was earlier the launching ground for Note series smartphones until last years Galaxy Note 7. Notably, the company was earlier expected to delay the launch of its upcoming Note flagship as rushing the launch of Galaxy Note 7 last year resulted in faulty batteries that caused explosion cases associated with the smartphone. The company has reportedly kept the same timeline for launch as last year to get a headstart ahead of iPhone 8 launch. As Apple might have a few tricks up its sleeves at the launch event this year, this cannot be termed as a bad move.
Moving to the leak about Galaxy Note 8s dual camera setup, a Weibo tipster has suggested that the smartphone will feature two 13-megapixel sensors at the back, as pointed out in a report by Phones Daily. Further, the tipster has mentioned that the company is working on three different dual camera modules. While Samsung Galaxy C10 has already been spotted featuring dual camera setup in different renders, we might have to wait to figure out the reference of the third dual camera setup.
To recall, well-known KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously suggested that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature a dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor.
Recently, reports suggested that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon 836 processor. Earlier leaks have suggested that the smartphone will come with a 6.3-inch Infinity display and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is also said to pack 6GB of RAM, and offer up to 256GB of storage.
While earlier there were rumours of an integrated fingerprint scanner under the display, Samsung reportedly ditched the plans due to concerns regarding security of this feature.

Xiaomis next smartphone offering for India will have dual cameras
Xiaomis next smartphone offering for India will have dual cameras

Xiaomis next smartphone offering for India will have dual-camera, and will launch in September. Xiaomi India VP and Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain made the announcement on Twitter. He also shared a portrait shot of himself with background blur effect. Sadly he did not reveal the name of the dual-camera phone.
However, the possible contenders are the flagship Mi 6 and the recently released Mi 5X. And since, Xiaomi aggressively targets the sub-Rs. 12,000 price segment, and has no plans to launch a flagship product, we can rule out the Mi 6, and assume its the Mi 5X.
The dual-camera toting Mi 5X was announced alongside MIUI 9 last month in home market of China. The dual-camera boasts two 12MP sensors, same as the Mi 6 flagship one with a f/2.2 aperture wide-angle lens and other with a f/2.6 aperture telephoto lens offering portrait mode and background blur assisted by dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. For selfies it gets 5MP front shooter.
As for the other specs, the Mi 5X features 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, 5MP front shooter, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, fingerprint scanner and 3080mAh battery.
In China the Mi 5X is priced at CNY 1499, which translates to Rs. 14,000, so the India pricing should be somewhere around that figure.
Cant wait for you guys to check out Xiaomis first dual-camera phone in India! Coming next month! ?? Manu Kumar Jain (@manukumarjain) August 8, 2017

Samsung Galaxy Note8 final specs detailed dual cameras 6GB RAM and more
Samsung Galaxy Note8 final specs detailed dual cameras 6GB RAM and more

Samsungs upcoming flagship the Galaxy Note8 will be unpacked on August 23. Evan Blass recently shared the press shots of Galaxy Note8, and now he has revealed "final specs" of the flagship. There is no surprise in the specs sheet, and is line with what earlier reports and rumors claimed.
Most of the specs are same as Galaxy S8+, but the Galaxy Note8 will get a slightly larger footprint and display, 6GB RAM, dual-camera setup and the signature S-Pen with improved functions.
The dual-cameras is said to consist of two 12MP sensors: a 12MP wide-angle lens with f/1.7 aperture and dual-pixel auto-focus + secondary 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 apeture and 2x optical zoom. Both lenses are optically stabilized. The camera on the front will be an 8MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture.
The main body of Galaxy Note8 will be IP68 certified for water and dust-resistant same as Galaxy S8+. However, it will sport 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display, slightly larger than Galaxy S8+s 6.2-inch screen. The screen will have curved edges, with minimal bezels on top and botton and will boast QHD+ (1440 x 2960 pixels) resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Note8 will get more squared off corners instead of Galaxy S8+s rounded ones. The physical dimensions will be 162.5mm x 74.6mm x 8.5mm, which will make it 0.4mm thicker than the Galaxy S8+.
Just like Galaxy S8 line, the Galaxy Note8 will come in two processor variants: one with Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform for the US market, and Exynos 8895 for the rest of the world. It will pack 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and get microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Other specs include fast-charging 3300mAh battery, USB Type-C port, and rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Lastly, at launch, the Galaxy Note8 will be available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold, followed by Orchid Grey and Deep Sea Blue color options. The Galaxy Note8 is rumored to carry a priced tag of 1000 Euros ($1000 | Rs. 77,000).
