Swipe Technologies latest budget smartphone offering comes bundled with a VR headset. Dubbed Elite VR, the company says its the most affordable VR-enabled smartphone. Sadly, at a time when most devices ship with Android Nougat, the Elite VR still runs Marshmallow.
In terms of specifications, the Elite VR features 5.5-inch HD IPS display and is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor backed by Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
For photography, it has 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front shooter. And the dual-SIM packs 3000mAh battery, and supports 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS for connectivity. The details about the VR headset is not known.
Priced at Rs. 4,499, the Elite VR will be available exclusively through e-commerce platform ShopClues starting today in Black, White, Gold and Red colors. AFew days back the brand also released Konnect Power at Rs. 4,999.

ZTE is launching a new budget smartphone in the U.S called Blade ZMax featuring a bigger screen, battery and dual-rear cameras.
The ZTE Blade ZMax has 6-inch Full HD IPS display with 2.5D Dragontail glass and is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
For photography, theres 16MP + 2MP sensor at the rear for bokeh, monochrome or portrait effects on photos. For selfies you get an 8MP sensor on the front. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.x, GPS and USB Type-C port.
Running Android Nougat, the phone packs a beefy 4080mAh battery, and has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. ZTE says the battery inside offers talk time up to 31 hours and up to 22 days of standby time. It sports a textured back panel for providing better grip.
The ZTE Blade ZMax is now up for pre-order in the U.S via MetroPCS at $129, and will be available for August 28.

Gionee is launching a new budget smartphone in India dubbed X1. It sports premium all-metal unibody design with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and runs Android Nougat based Amigo 4.0 UI out of the box.
The Gionee X1 features 5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It gets 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and 8MP front shooter for selfies and video calling.
Connectivity options on-board are dual-SIM slots, microSD card slot, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. A 3000mAh battery runs the show.
The Gionee X1 has been priced at Rs. 8,999 and is now available for purchase via offline retailers. Launch offers include additional 10GB data per month for six months for Airtel users, and two Rs. 250 cash back coupon from Paytm.

Karbonn has launched a new entry-level smartphone dubbed A41 Power in India. The phone is aimed first time smartphone users, who want a compact sized with VoLTE support.
The Karbonn A41 Power has a compact 4-inch WVGA display bearing the resolution 800 x 480 pixels and is powered by an 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB on-board storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
It gets 2MP rear camera with LED flash and VGA front shooter, while a 2300mAh battery runs the show, that promises up to eight hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Nougat and supports 4G, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Karbonn Mobiles is launching a new budget smartphone with larger display and a decent battery capacity.Dubbed Aura Note Play, it runs Android Nougat out of the box, and gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

LG has officially launched its latest Q series bezel-less smartphone, the Q6 in India with FullVision display technology, that is also found on the flagship G6.
The mid-range smartphone has been aggressively priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting August 10 in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Terra Gold color.
The LG Q6 comes with 5.5-inch Full HD+ FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio , octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera w/ LED flash, 5MP 100-degree wide angle selfie shooter, and 3000mAh battery. It will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat and has dedicated slots for dual-SIM and microSD card.
Design-wise, it sports bezel-free front, plastic body with rounded corners, but has 7000 series aluminum frame to make it more sturdy, and the devices case is MIL-STD 810G certified for extra durability, which means it will be able to with stand extreme temperatures, rain, humidity, sand and dust. Unfortunately, theres no fingerprint scanner.

Supply Chain Sources Feed Speculation on Apples Display Plans for Future Devices
Apple is set to revamp the displays for the majority of its product lines within the next year, according to supply chain research done by NPD DisplaySearch (via CNET).
The new research corroborates an earlier some speculation on report that Apple is set to revamp its displays across multiple product lines and offers Apples plans rooted in the supply chain hints.
Based on supply chain research, we believe Apple is planning to revamp nearly all of the displays in its products over the next year. This would indicate that Apple, once again, intends to count on display technology for new product innovation. We can speculate about Apple’s new products as follows:
DisplaySearch speculates that Apple may launch both a 4.7-inch and a 5.7-inch iPhone next year, roughly in line with a Wall Street Journal report from September claiming Apple has been experimenting with iPhone models carrying displays of 4.8 inches to 6 inches, perhaps for a 2014 release.
DisplaySearchs report also covers the slimmer-bezeled iPad and Retina iPad mini, which will reportedly be unveiled on October 22. Unsurprisingly, the report indicates that both displays will carry the same 2048 x 1536 resolution as the current full-size iPad. DisplaySearch also suggests that a 12.9-inch iPad is set for debut next year, in line with the Wall Street Journals report that Apple is looking at larger iPad models.
The MacBook Air, which is unlikely to get an update at Apples October 22 event, is likely to see a new 12-inch Retina Display model launch next year, according to DisplaySearchs findings. This new low-power MacBook Air would likely feature a 2304 x 1440 display, although this would be the usable screen real estate at a non-Retina equivalent of just 1152 x 720, lower than that of the current 11-inch MacBook Air. Users would, however, be able to opt for higher-resolution non-Retina settings as seen on the Retina MacBook Pro. Mac display upgrade rumors also fall in line with earlier reports that Apple is set to move to IGZO displays, which allow for higher-resolution displays with lower power consumption.
DisplaySearch also claims there will be two Apple-branded 4Kx2K television sets in 55- and 65-inch sizes, feeding longstanding rumors of an Apple television set project that has yet to come to fruition. Finally, the report claims that 1.3- and 1.6-inch iWatch models could debut in late 2014 with flexible 320 x 320 AMOLED displays. This, too, falls in line with earlier rumors claiming Apple is set to adopt AMOLED display for its smart watch device.
The first of these rumored devices with all new displays is reportedly set for an unveiling at an iPad-centric event on October 22. Apple has yet to officially confirm the event, but should send out media invitations roughly one week ahead of time.

GoPro HERO4 leaks with 4K 30fps video and touch display
Details of the Black and Silver versions of the GoPro HERO4 have now surfaced revealing 4K video recording at 30fps and built-in touch display. However, you’ll have to choose one or the other, as the Black does the 4K @ 30fps recording, while the Silver packs a touch display at the back.
The GoPro HERO4 Black is claimed as the most advanced GoPro camera ever and boasts improved image quality in addition to twice the processing power of its predecessor. It is capable of capturing 4K @ 30fps video, up from the HERO3 Black, which was capped at 15fps. It can also shoot 2.7K @ 50fps, 1440p@80fps, but 240fps options have been dropped.
As far as still images are concerned the GoPro HERO4 Black can snap 12MP photos at 30fps and the company claims dynamic range is better than before, too. GoPro has introduces new camera controls like color, ISO limit and exposure while making the camera waterproof of up to 40m.
The rest of the specifications include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a QuickCapture feature for powering up and recording with a single press of a button.
Unlike the Black, the GoPro HERO4 Silver doesn’t do 4K @ 30fps, but manages to do it at 15fps. We already mentioned it packs a built-in touch display, whereas the Black doesn’t. Other video modes include 2.7K at 30fps, 1440p at 48fps, 1080p at 60fps, 960p at 100fps, and 720p at 120fps. The rest of the features are similar to the Black version.
Pricing and availability aren’t known at this point, as GoPro will officially announce the two HERO4 cameras on October 8.
