Android Marshmallow officially arrives on the Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact (23.5.A.0.570)

Sony Mobile has commenced the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow rollout on the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. The update is currently live for the Xperia Z2 (D6503 only), Xperia Z3 (D6603 ony) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803 only). The new firmware has build number 23.5.A.0.570, which incidentally is the same as the recent beta release.
Sony has only pulled the Marshmallow trigger on those variants that are part of the beta programme, perhaps in an effort to start getting the update to the public in a timely fashion. We would expect other variants to see the update shortly after. The new update includes the Camera 2.0.0 user interface and February Android security patch level � some screenshots can be seen here. Meizu M6 Note with dual cameras to launch on August 23

Earlier this week, details about Meizus upcoming mid-range smartphone, the M6 Note hit the interwebs. And now the Chinese smartphone maker has scheduled an event in China on August 23 to make it official. The company has also shared an invite that shows the device in Green color, and also confirms it to have dual-camera setup.

According to earlier reports, the Meizu M6 Note will feature 5.5-inch Full HD display, 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 chip and 4000mAh battery. It will most likely run Android Nougat and have a fingerprint scanner. The dual-camera setup is said to sport two 13MP Sony IMX258 sensors assisted by PDAF and dual-tone LED flash, while the selfie shooter at the front will have 5MP f/2.0 sensor.

It is expected to come in two variants: 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The base model is rumored to cost CNY 1599 ($240 | Rs. 15,000).

The Meizu M6 Note unveiling will take place at Beijing Performance Arts Center and will kick off 3pm China time (12:30pm IST).

John Ray Grisham, Jr. (born February 8, 1955) is an American lawyer and author, best known for his popular legal thrillers.

John Grisham graduated from Mississippi State University before attending the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1981 and practiced criminal law for about a decade. Tablet chipset shipments mark 23 annual jump in Q2 2014

According to a report by Strategy Analytics, chipsets destined for tablets have marked a year-on-year jump of 23% in Q2 2014. According to the estimates, $945 million worth of tablet chipsets have shipped in the last quarter alone.

Standing on top is Apple with its iPad slates, which hold a 26% revenue share. Interestingly, Intel is close by at second place at 19% and Qualcomm is third with 17%. At fourth and fifth places are MediaTek and Samsung, respectively.

While Intel is breathing down Apple’s neck, HiSilicon, Marvell, MediaTek, Nvidia and Qualcomm are also registering significant growth in shipping chipsets for use in tablets. Still, the company is well on its path on achieving the goal of 40 million tablet CPU shipments in 2014.

According to Stuart Robinson of Strategy Analytics, Nvidia is poised to grab a significant chunk of the Q3 market share with the 64-bit variant of the Tegra K1. This particular chip is anticipated to star in the upcoming HTC Nexus 9 (Volantis).
