Samsung Notebook 9 Pen convertible with Kaby Lake R coming in September
Samsung back in May introduced the S-Pen toting Notebook 9 Pro convertible featuring 7th generation Intel Core i7 processors. Now the South Korean tech giant is giving it an upgrade with a new model called Notebook 9 Pen with the just announced 8th generation Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake-R processor, which is 40 percent percent faster than the 7th generation.
Apart from the processor upgrade the rest of the configuration will remain unchanged. Just like NoteBook 9 Pro, the Notebook 9 Pen will be offered in 13.3-inch and 15-inch screen models and both include Full HD display and touchscreen panel. They will sport 360-degree rotatable hinge, which allows the device to be used in several modes like laptop, tablet, stand and tent.
The 13.3-inch packs on-board Intel UHD Graphics 620 and 8GB DDR4 RAM, while the 15-inch model has AMD Radeon 540 GPU with dedicated 2GB memory, and 16GB DDR4 RAM.
Both models will come with 256GB SSD, HD camera, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, HDMI port, microSD card slot, WIFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, fast charging support and 1.5W x 2 stereo speakers.
The built-in Stylus S-Pen comes with a 0.7mm tip that can detect more than 4,000 levels of pressure. It is also able to detect tilt for shading, and is compatible with Samsungs Air Command software, and Windows Ink functions.
The pricing has not been revealed, but Samsung says it will first roll out to home market of South Korea in September, followed by other markets as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 S Pen tips
Now in its fourth iteration, the S Pen has evolved into a productive tool for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users.
Heres a few different ways to use it:
With the S Pen, you can collect various pieces of content appearing on the screen. When you find content to collect, open the air command panel by moving the pen close to the screen and clicking the S Pen button and tap Smart select. Drag the S Pen across the content area you want to collect, to capture it.
If you are collecting multiple pieces of content, tap the blue icon on the bottom right corner to add your selections to your collected list.
Use the S Pen to draw a shape around content you want to save or share. When you find an area to capture, open the air command panel and tap Image clip. Draw around an area to select it with the S Pen. You can reshape the selected area by selecting a shape icon on the toolbar.
The image is automatically copied to your clipboard. Click on the share via tab on the top right corner and select an app to share the image.
The S Pen is a great tool to write on screenshots to archive for later use or to share information with others.
When you find content to capture, open the air command panel and tap Screen write. The current screen is automatically captured and the editing toolbar appears on the screen. Enter text or drawings with the S Pen.
Once youre finished, save to Scrapbook by tapping the share via tab and select the Scrapbook app. Or select the SMS app to share with others via text.
The S Pen acts like a mouse when capturing text. Press and hold the S Pen button, then drag the S Pen over text or item lists to select multiple items or text. Copy and paste the selection into another app to share with others.

Lernstift � A pen that vibrates to a spelling mistake
As children we all needed feedback from our teachers to correct our spelling mistakes but now a pen can do it for you. A pair of German inventors have developed Lernstift, a learning pen thatll help you improving your spelling and handwriting with the power of vibration. Packing a stripped-down Linux system with a non-optical motion sensor, itll work out what youre writing and buzz you if it thinks youve made a mistake.
The pen has two modes – Calligraphy mode and Orthography mode. In Calligraphy Mode the pen vibrates once if a letter is written wrong or illegibly. In Orthography Mode the pen vibrates once for a misspelled word and twice to point out grammatical errors in a sentence.
Lernstift works differently. The pen recognizes words, gestures and symbols, even if you only "draw them in the air". This opens up all new possibilities for whiteboarding applications.
With its exchangeable writing system the pen can be easily turned into a pencil, fountain pen or ballpoint.
