LG Q6 India launch set for August 10 will be Amazon exclusive and priced under Rs 20 000
LG announced the global roll out of the Q6 last month, and now the bezel-less smartphone is all set to arrive in India. The company has announced it will launch the Q6 in the country on August 10. Moreover, in a teaser poster LG also revealed the phone will be priced under Rs. 20,000, and will be Amazon India exclusive.
The LG Q6 comes with 5.5-inch Full HD FullVision display wth 18:9 aspect ratio, octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP & 5MP cameras (rear and front), and 3000mAh battery. It will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat and have dedicated slots for dual-SIM and microSD card.
Design-wise, it sports plastic body and minimal bezels with rounded corners, but has 7000 series aluminum frame to make it more sturdy, and the devices case is MIL-STD 810G certified for extra durability, which means it will be able to with stand extreme temperatures, rain, humidity, sand and dust. Unfortunately, theres no fingerprint scanner.
Color options are Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Mystic White and Terra Gold.

Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic novel by British author E. L. James. Yesterday two Xiaomi Redmi series phones surfaced on Chinas TENAA, and was believed to be the Redmi Note 5 or Redmi 5A. However, it appears that the devices are Redmi Note 5A and its variant. And Xiaomi has confirmed that the phone will be unveiled at an event in home market of China next Monday, that is August 21.
The Chinese device maker also shared official images of Redmi Note 5A, and they are in line with the photos posted on TENAA. The Redmi Note 5A will not be a killer device like the previously launched Mi 5X, but will boast the usual specs, you did expect from Xiaomi.
According to TENAA the Redmi Note 5A will arrive in two variants: MDE6 and MDE6S. Both models will have 5.5-inch HD display, 3000mAh battery, and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI 9. They will arrive in Gold, Rose Gold and Silver colors.
Individually, the MDT6 model will be a lower-end device featuring quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 13MP/5MP cameras. It will give the fingerprint scanner a miss.
The MDT6S on the other hand will be an upgraded variant boasting specs like octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP/13MP cameras and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Redmi Note 5A announcement will start at 7:30pm China time (5pm IST) on August 21.

Google Unveils First Set of Android Apps for Chrome OS
Google, at this years I/O Keynote address, had revealed that Chrome OS devices (such as Chromebook and Chromebox machines) will be receiving Android app support. The company on Thursday announced it has brought the first set of Android apps to Chrome OS.
The company has announced four apps - namely Duolingo, a free language-learning app; Evernote, the popular note taking app; Sight Words, an app to help improve your childs reading skills, and Vine, for creating short, looping videos - have landed on Chrome OS.
Ken Mixter, Software Engineer and Josh Woodward, Product Manager at Google, in a Chrome blog post titled "First set of Android apps coming to a Chromebook near you",announced the release of four Android apps and said, "Today, were making Chromebooks even more mobile by bringing the first set of Android apps to Chrome OS. These first apps are the result of a project called the App Runtime for Chrome (Beta), which we announced earlier this summer at Google I/O."
The blog post also clarified that in the coming months Google will be working with select group of Android developers to bring more apps to the Chromebook. "Over the coming months, well be working with a select group of Android developers to add more of your favorite apps so youll have a more seamless experience across your Android phone and Chromebook," blog post added.
Google is leaving no stone unturned to make its Chromebook a mainstream device for consumers. Sundar Pichai, Googles Senior Vice President Android, Chrome and Apps, had previewed some Android apps running on a Chromebook at I/O Keynote address.
The event saw some apps including Evernote, Flipboard, and Vine, being showcased running on a Chromebook based on Chrome OS. Pichai was also quoted saying, "Were in early days," regarding the new Android apps support on Chromebooks.
We can expect Google to announce few more Android apps compatible with Chrome OS in the coming months.
