Google Free Public WiFi Service launched in India

Google has joined hands with RailTel to facilitate free Public WiFi Service at the Mumbai Central Railway Station. Google had announced its plans to bring high-speed Wi-Fi to 400 Indian railway stations during PM Narendra Modi�s visit to Google HQ in Mountain View, California.

Google also revealed in statement on Friday that it will expand its services across hundred railway stations by this year and ultimately across 400 stations. The Railways Stations next to get this service are Allahabad, Patna, Jaipur and Ranchi. In Hyderabad, the MTS has been providing Free Wi-Fi to all Users in the Secunderabad Railway Station since 1 Year.

The free WiFi by Google will be accessible to the WiFi enabled devices. The travelers will be able to easily stream high definition video while they are waiting. Google says users of its public Wi-Fi service can save videos offline on its YouTube app for viewing during the journey.  It should be noted that free WiFi in other public places like airports is free for a limited time period only.After 1 hour, you will be charged between R.s 25 to R.s 30 per hour.

Affordable smartphones have made it possible for the common men to experience the power of Internet. With our partnership with Google, we are very confident of rolling out a robust, scalable service at Railway stations in the near future,�

�We�re delighted to launch India�s first high speed public Wi-Fi service in partnership with Indian Railways. Bringing affordable Internet access to millions of people is an important part of making the Internet both easily accessible and useful for more than 300 million Indians who are already online, and the nearly one billion more who are not,�

How to setup free WiFi ?



Those who wish to access free WiFi Service will have to visit WiFi section in their device, after that you have to select Railwire Network and then you have to open the browser,

They will redirect you to railwire.co.in. You will be asked to provide mobile number on the WiFi login screen and then press receive SMS.

You will receive 4 Digit One Time Password (OTP) via SMS and after that you have to enter that OTP at the WiFi login screen and click done.
After that you will be shown check mark which will certify that user is connected to WiFi....
