Xiaomi Redmi 5A press render and specs leaked

Xiaomi Redmi 5A press render and specs leaked

Xiaomis next affordable smartphone offering will be the successor of Redmi 4A. Called Redmi 5A,  press render of the device has hit the interweb along with its specs-sheet.

The render show the Redmi 5A in Gold color, and the design is similar to that of Redmi 4A. It will sport a metal-unibody design and does not include a fingerprint scanner. That said, the body has received a few tweaks. The Redmi 4A had its speaker grille at the back, but on the Redmi 5A, the speakers are at the bottom. Also, the headphone jack is now located at the top.

Moving on to the specs, the Redmi 5A will get three new features compared to Redmi 4A. It will come with a bigger 5.5-inch HD display instead of 5-inch (Redmi 4A), and the battery has been slightly downgraded from 3120mAh (Redmi 4A) to 3080mAh. The last change is in the software, and the device will ship with MIUI 8 based Android Nougat instead of Marshmallow.

The other specs of Redmi 5A will be same as its predecessor, and include Snapdragon 425 chip, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 13MP/5MP (rear/front camera).

Surprisingly, even though the Redmi 5A has received a minor upgrade over the Redmi 4A, the price has been doubled. While the Redmi 4A was priced at CNY 499 ($74 | Rs. 5,000), the Redmi 5A is rumored to carry a price tag of CNY 999 ($149 | Rs. 9,600). Maybe it will be exclusive to China telecom companies or the pricing info is fake. Whatever, the case, take this news with a pinch of salt.

LG V30 surfaces in official looking press render

LG V30 surfaces in official looking press render

The LG V30 will be announced on August 31 at IFA, and ahead of the unveiling, Evan Blass has shared the official looking press render of the device.

The render shows the V30 in silver color, and its design appears to be a mix of companys flagship LG G6 and Samsungs Galaxy S8. The V30 has LG G6s FullVision display on the front with minimal bezels on all four sides, while the rear has curved edges like Samsungs Galaxy S8. Also the render confirms that V30 will not have the second screen, found on its predecessors. Instead users have to access quick shortcuts via the Floating Bar which is built into the software.

The dual-camera is aligned horizontally, along with LED flash & laser auto-focus are located at the rear, so is the power button/fingerprint scanner combination. Even though the render dont show the top and
bottom of the phone, other leaks have shown the phone will feature 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port.

LG has already confirmed that the V30 will sports 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The display will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5, and the phone will support HDR 10 and Googles Daydream VR platform. The dual-camera will boast f/1.6 aperture and glass lens, for improved low-light camera performance and deliver better color reproduction.

The LG V30 will ship with Android Nougat with UX 6.0+ on top, and is most likely to be equipped with Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and pack 4GB RAM. It will also boast IP68 water and dust resistance rating and an improved ESS quad DAC.
