Google Pixel gets up to 200 price cut in the U S

Google finally forayed into the high-end smartphone market with the  Pixel phones in 2016 to compete against Samsung, Apple, HTC, LG and others. Its a no-compromise flagship boasting premium design, best in class camera, stock Android experience and more. However, it also carried a higher starting price tag of $649. 

And now, with the launch of next flagship Pixel 2 nearing, Google has slashed the price of the first gen Pixel phones by up to $200. It is also throwing in a  Daydream View headset as well for free. This offer is only applicable for U.S residents.

The smaller Pixel has received a price cut of $125 and is now available for $524 (32GB) and $624 (128GB). The bigger Pixel XL 2 on the other hand which launched for $769 is getting $200 price cut, and is now available at $569 (32GB) and $669 (128GB). Google is also bundling a Daydream View headset with with the pucrchase of Pixel phones that normally costs $79.

The Pixel and Pixel XL at the discounted price are being sold through Google online store, and the discounts will be applied at checkout.

To recap the specs, the Google Pixel comes with 5-inch Full HD display and 2770mAh battery, while the Pixel XL has 5.5-inch QHD display and 3450mAh battery. Other specs are identical and include Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, 12.3MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 4G LTE, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C ports. They run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.

Dual camera toting Honor 6X gets limited period discount in India

Honor India, a terminal of Huawei has announced a three-day limited period discount on its mid-range dual-camera toting Honor 6X. 

The 3GB RAM/32GB storage version of Honor 6X, which usually sells for Rs. 12,999, is now available for Rs. 11,999. The 4GB RAM/64GB storage version price has been reduced from Rs. 15,999 to Rs. 13,999. The limited period discount kicks off August 9 and will last till August 12 exclusively on Amazon India.

"Our goal has always been to bring premium quality technological devices to the customers at an affordable range and this offer is to ensure that our customers can avail our products at even more attractive prices. Honor 6X is among the best smartphones in its segment and has been widely appreciated for its superior design quality, dual camera innovation, and stellar performance,"  Honor India said in a press release.

To recap the specs, the Honor 6X comes with dual rear cameras � 12MP Sony IMX386 PDAF unit + secondary 2MP unit for achieving depth of field and background blur� with an LED flash and PDAF.

Other specs include 5.5-inch Full HD display, octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 8MP selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G with VoLTE and 3340mAh battery. It runs Android Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1, but  Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 is available for the device..

Earlier rumors suggested that even the screen size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would stay on the diameter of the screen of the Galaxy Note 3. Equal to 5.7 in. According CNMO Samsung Galaxy Note 4 gets a screen of 5.5 inch.

Other specifications spoken of in relation to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rather be called “confirmed” by the Chinese media. Despite the smaller screen size of 5.5-inch screen does offer the “new” extreme qHD display resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels). This Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could be behind the LG G3 second ‘Western’ smartphone with such a high screen resolution. As usual, Samsung is very likely to use its own Super AMOLED display technology, so also suggest Chinese media.
